Make a splash at an outdoor pool or spray pad

All City of London pools are open over the weekend and running regular programs on Monday, August 5. Visit london.ca/aquatics for pool locations and hours of operation.

Cool off indoors at a Community Centre

The following community centres will be open on Monday, August 5 with special holiday hours and programming:

  • Carling Heights Optimist Community Centre (open 6:30 a.m. – 9:30 p.m.)
  • South London Community Centre (open 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.)
  • Stronach Community Recreation Centre (open 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.)
  • Bostwick Community Centre, YMCA and Library (open 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.)
  • Stoney Creek Community Centre, YMCA and Library (open 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.)

The following community centres will be closed on Monday, August 5:

  • Boyle Memorial Community Centre
  • Byron Optimist Community Centre
  • Earl Nichols Recreation Centre
  • Hamilton Road Seniors’ Centre and Community Centre
  • Kinsmen Recreation Centre
  • Kiwanis Seniors’ Community Centre

Explore the Downtown Core

Haven’t checked out London’s first flex street, Dundas Place, yet? Or what about the variety of shops and services along King, York or Richmond? Don’t let construction stop you from heading downtown this weekend, plus enjoy free two-hour parking on us! On August 3, 4 and 5 at Municipal Lot 8 outside of Budweiser Gardens, those looking to access local businesses can utilize this lot when visiting our downtown core.

Explore a world of Magic and Wizardry at Storybook Gardens

A magical weekend awaits your family at Storybook Gardens. Special weekend programming includes Storybook World of Magic and Wizardry, Wild Ontario bird show, Potions 101 with Orbax and Pepper and more. For holiday hours information, visit Storybook Gardens.

 

Road Closures

  • Beginning at 6 p.m. on Friday, August 2 until 7 a.m. on Tuesday, August 6, the intersection of King Street and Talbot Street downtown will be closed to motorists and cyclists for core construction work. Pedestrians will still be able to get through the area. Access to Market parking will be available off of Talbot Street.
  • Beginning at 9 a.m. on August 31 until 9 p.m. on Tuesday, August 6, Dufferin Avenue, between Clarence Street and Wellington Street, and Wellington Street between Wolfe Street and Dufferin Avenue are closed for Rib Fest.
  • Dundas Street, from Wellington to Richmond, and York Street, from Talbot to Richmond, remains closed for core construction work.
