According to Matt Damon, Oppenheimer’s London red carpet premiere was moved up because of the impending actor’s strike.

“We talked about it,” said Damon in an interview with Variety. “Once the strike is called, everyone will walk out in solidarity. That’s why we moved this red carpet up because we know the second it’s called, we’re going home.”

Matt revealed that leaving the “strike strategy” of leaving was determined by a 98% to 2% vote beforehand because SAG-AFTRA leadership had their “best interest at heart.”

Before the screening of Christopher Nolan’s star-studded film, Nolan himself informed the audience that the cast had left in solidarity with the SAG-AFTRA strike.
