The Ontario Government is sending 280-thousand more kids back to school on Monday, including in the London region.
Education Minister Steven Lecce made the announcement this morning, saying students in 4 additional Public Health Units can return to in-class learning on February 1st. The Middlesex London Health Unit and Southwestern Public Health were on that list.
In his statement, Lecce said the government agrees with the growing consensus in the medical community that retuning students to in-person learning is essential to the well being, development and mental health of children.
The statement goes on to say that before and after school child chare programs may also resume February 1st and the emergency child care program will end on Friday for the Public Health Units that are returning to class.
