Today is a day we bet MANY children look forward too – HALLOWEEN! It’s a night where kids can dress up as their favourite movie character, super hero, princess, idol, sports player, the list goes on and on. And the best part is, you get free candy! All the announcers at Easy 101.3 wish you and your children a happy and safe Halloween! Here are a few blurbs on our favourite parts about Halloween (and a couple flash blacks!).

Meghan

“My favourite part about Halloween was seeing what kind of costume ideas my Mom would think up. She loved investing her time in making costumes or adding personal touches on store bought costumes and looking back on it now, it makes Halloween memories that much more sentimental. And of course, I couldn’t say no to Reese’s peanut butter cups, which also happens to be my Mom’s favourite so those went pretty fast from the Halloween bag!”

“Always remembered the houses that had given out the best candy the year before, wanted to visit them first!  Maybe a full sized chocolate bar, or maybe extra generous with the Candy!

My favorite costume was the year my Dad made me a Robot Costume! … (Think big box and tin foil) so sorry no photo available J  And carrying an orange Unicef Box for donations door to door.”

Jaynel

“I would have to say my favourite part about Halloween was getting to dress up as something different and fun each year. I always picked a new costume and through the years was a princess (Jasmine and Snow White), Lion, Evil doll (Chuckie), grim reaper, cowgirl, etc.

Also my brother HATES chocolate so I got double the amount of candy from his haul! Ha-ha!”

“Halloween. What wasn’t to love? You got to dress up in a fun costume. You got to dress up in a fun costume and go out after dark. You got to dress up in a fun costume and go out after dark with your friends. You got to dress up a fun costume and go out after dark with your friends to collect the biggest haul of treats you’d get the entire year! And truth be told my Mom made the best costumes. Anything I could draw or describe, she would create. People remembered them, and would ask to borrow them. “Mrs Cox, do you still have the Mickey and Minnie Mouse costume your kids wore last year?” “Oh Warden’s are borrowing them? What about the Seven Dwarfs? Or the leopard? How about the witch?”

There was also the lady down the street who made fudge. Our parents would always let us have her homemade candy because of course, we knew them. She’d make all different kinds and arrange them on fancy doilies on a huge tray, which she would bring down right to your eye level and let you pick your own. She really understood the whole magic of presentation part.

Halloween memories. So much fun.”
